I am so excited to have the opportunity to be working with the Ben Franklin students and staff this year!

Facts all about me:

My family is scattered around the United States, from Alaska all the way to Florida, but I'm originally from Montana! I enjoy visiting my family farm in Homestead every summer.

My alma mater is the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. I am certified in both Elementary and Special Education in Learning Disabilities, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities, and Emotional/Behavioral Disorders. I am working towards my license certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders.

I taught Second Graders at a charter school in Davenport, Florida for the 2005-2006 school year.  The following year I was a long term substitute in the fall and a .5 reading/math support teacher in the spring. For the 2007-2008 school year to date, I have been teaching students who have developmental cognitive delays, severe to profound at Ben Franklin Elementary. In the past, I have taught Summer School and After School Academy at Ben Franklin.

My husband, Richard, is a director on the Rochester Public School District School Board. We have two cats, Buttercup and Purrsia.

Facts all about my classroom:

The students in my classroom are learning self-care, functional, social, communication, gross and fine motor, and academic skills, among MANY others!  The students in my classroom spend the majority of their day in my classroom working on their own individual goals and objectives. They are mainstreamed into the general education classrooms for different parts of the day such as Take Off Time (Morning Meeting
) and closing, science, health, social studies, specials, and independent play time, just to name a few.

I love the community at Ben Franklin Elementary and enjoy the opportunity to teach my amazing students!
