Franklin Elementary School

Todd Gasner: Reading/Math

Thank you for visiting my website. I am very excited to be teaching at Franklin this year. I am a product of the Rochester Public School System. I graduated from John Marshall High School in 1990 and attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 1994. Upon graduation, I went back to school at Winona State where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. I had my first teaching position as a fifth grade teacher in Dietrich, Idaho where I also had the privilege of coaching track, football, and girls basketball. I returned to Rochester after one year and obtained a position as a Detention Specialist at Many Rivers Juvenile Detention Center. I worked there for three years until I obtained a teaching position in the same facility. In 2000, I went back to Winona State, while still teaching, and I earned my Masters in Education in 2002. I taught at Many Rivers working with diverse populations of students until the program shut down in 2008. Then for the 2008-2009 school year I taught fourth grade at Hoover Elementary here in Rochester. I transferred to Franklin in 2009-2010, where I could again put my talents and strengths to use as a math/reading intervention teacher working with students in a small group setting.  I have been here at Franklin in the same role since.

I am honored and proud to be a part of the Franklin team and would be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have in regards to my current position and role.  I look forward to working with your child and look forward to another fun-filled year here at Franklin.
